Guest Video: “How the Left Conquered the Right”

This Saturday’s Guest Video is Prof. Paul Gottfried’s address to the Sixth Annual Meeting of the Property and Freedom Society of 23-26 May 2011 at Bodrum Turkey, “How the Left Conquered the Right”. Although this presentation is provided from the US perspective, the themes and narratives are commonly shared throughout Western democracies, and certainly the Anglosphere. Prof. Paul Gottfried has been a guest columnist at SydneyTrads in the past and his essay on the history and future of paleoconservatism, which was published as part of the 2015 Symposium of the Sydney Traditionalist Forum, will be of particular interests to students of the right. His work perhaps offers the clearest exposition of why mainstream conservatives continue to be disappointed with the fruit of their political activism and the apparent bankruptcy of contemporary electoral politics.

SydneyTrads is the web page of the Sydney Traditionalist Forum: an association of young professionals who form part of the Australian independent right (also known as “non-aligned right”).
