Poetry by Luke Torrisi: “A Meditation in the Park”

olive_branchAzure worlds joined on a string
Maranatha Maranatha Maranatha
Orbs of devotion spin through my fingers
Show me your criss-crossed white scars
Mine cannot be seen

Black sun of onyx
Pater Noster, Glory Be
So polished, I am all I can see
Ah! Fast shut – my vision clears
Your will be done

Cool but reassuring stone
Sliding across the Lapis
An embracing warmth
My face is gently caressed
Zephyr, beam and child’s laugh herald

The weeks of Lazuli pass
Thirty three then Calvary tree
My hand is held, my scars remain
They are the countersign
Rough edged shale

Amen
