Poetry by Luke Torrisi: “Stuck in a Rutte”

He shrinks yet he wins,
He hails himself hero

I’d give him a fiddle,
And watch him play Nero

A small patch of land,
Much reclaimed from the sea

Blessed with Aegir’s riches,
The soul of the free

All is taken for granted,
With little upset

All the gifts poured from Freyr
Are caught in Ran’s net.

Their leaders need wisdom,
Must drink Mimir’s water.

But who’d give an eye,
To look after their daughter?

There’s money to make,
An election: let’s win it!

Can these lands remain Nether,
Without the Dutch in it?
