“Now people say that it was kind of rape. I was only thirteen and she was twenty-four. Well, I say, if it was a rape, it was a good rape then, a rape that turned my sorry-ass coochi-snorcher into a kind of heaven.”
▪ Eve Ensler, The Vagina Monologues (Villard, 1998) extract from page 75.

Misquoted again.
A little like Whoopie Goldberg’s comments about a rape perpetrated by a co-ideologue not being a “rape rape”, i.e. not really being a rape. Interesting that the purveyors of progress will always go to the defence of those who would otherwise be condemned outright had they been on the other side of the political spectrum. Hillary Clinton is an apologist for her husband’s philandering ways, yet the big issue in the US presidential campaign is that Trump “is a meanie” to women because of the way he conducts himself during televised debates. The hypocrisy is astounding. Senator Cory Bernardi was misquoted in the media in 2012, yet we don’t seem to see the rainbow-&-tolerance coalition rushing to correct the record in his example. The issue is this: why would somebody on the vanguard of sexual liberation minimize rape, and what does that tell us about the nature of those promoting the redefinition of sexual relations today?
